Well.
As anyone who is reading can see, i've already made bad on my goal to write a blog entry every day of my unemployment. Turns out, I don't actually have an infinite amount of time to do whatever I want! I was quite surprised yesterday when I found myself sitting down to dinner around 7:30, not having completed half of the things I envisioned I would be able to. This leads me to the thought, "what the FUCK did I get done when I was working??" The answer: Not much.
Most of my workdays went sorta like this: Get up to alarm at 7:00. Hit snooze until 7:05. Hit snooze until 7:10. Hit snooze until 7:20....you get the idea. Finally, I would arise around 7:45, jump in the shower, get dressed, head out the door at 8:10. Get home from work around 6:30, make dinner, eat, watch TV and relax until about 11:00, go to sleep. Repeat process.
That said, I actually still achieved a decent amount of things yesterday. Took care of unemployment insurance, cleaned and did laundry, ran a few errands, and made homemade buns and lentil sloppy joes. They were delicious :).
So far today, I've gone on a 25 mile bike ride, and I'm about to make lunch for my mom, sister and nephew. Then, onto a wine bar downtown to meet the boyfriend. I doubt much of anything productive will happen after that.
Tomorrow, I hope to process the remaining pictures I took at Joshua Tree, and take a journey to take some new pics! I need to try out the new intervalometer....
Well, off to buy some pizza ingredients.....cause every 2 year old loves pizza :).
I found myself asking the same question when I had my five months off! How in the hell do I get anything done when I am working? It's strange how we force ourselves to get certain daily things done when we have a schedule to adhear to. I stuck to getting, at a minimum, one thing done at least 5 days per week. I also did not have to wake up at a certain time anymore. This resulted in the gradual transformation of nocturnal Nikki. This is why I now work nights:) I would also say that, alone, riding bike for 25 miles is definately accomplishing something.
